Agori Tribe treated fans to a very special Throwback Thursday yesterday, unleashing two songs recorded almost 7 years ago, when the band first began, in a practice room in drummer Sean Naughton's house. See the official message from the band and check out the two songs below.

THROWBACK THURSDAY!!!! We just uploaded 2 supppper old school recordings to soundcloud that our good friend and fellow tribesmen Tyler Austin just unearthed for us. man..... these were the days... the lost tapes for sure!! I think this is something like 6-7 years ago in Sean's house where we use to jam for days and work on countless ideas which you probably still experience today!
We're posting these in honor of the progression we all have made over the years and for a jolly good look at the past! haha! We are also expecting to release some brand new music very very soon and an album is in the works for summer time :)))) plus plenty of performances to follow. We love you guys! Enjoy this blast from the past and tell us what you think! Be nice now......... ;D

Blues + Brews III: An Evening With... Kingfish

16 year-old Clarksdale, MS guitar prodigy Christone “Kingfish” Ingram headlines live at Young Avenue Deli

Memphis, TN – The third installment of the “Blues + Brews: An Evening With…” concert series showcases the future of the Blues to the Mid-South. On Friday, February 27, 2015, musical wunderkind Christone “Kingfish” Ingram will headline his first live performance in Memphis, Tennessee.
After an appearance at the White House and touring dates in France, Kingfish is coming back to Memphis to thrill audiences with his soulful, Delta sound.  Since he last took the stage in Memphis, opening for “Blues + Brews II,” his career has catapulted to the national stage as he has been featured on the Rachael Ray Show, numerous news outlets, as well as, shared and liked across all major social media.

Kingfish Ingram is extraordinary talent and has a huge personality to boot.  Kingfish is a true descendent of music legend Charlie Pride.  Originally from Delta blues country in Mississippi, he picked up the bass guitar at the unexpected age of 5.  Under the tutelage of music legends Richard "Daddy Rich” Crisman and Bill “Howl-N-Madd” Perry he learned the history of the Blues genre and honed musical chops far beyond his years.

Ingram is a one of a kind showman and his live performances are not to be missed.  Event doors will open at Young Avenue Deli at 9pm and live music will begin at 10pm with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram performing two full music sets. Craft and domestic beer specials will be provided by AS Barboro and Young Avenue Deli all night long.

About Christone “Kingfish” Ingram
Hailing from Clarksdale, MS home of the Delta Blues, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram personifies what the Delta Blues sound and culture is all about. Only 16 years old, Kingfish is thought of as a musical prodigy beginning his musical journey as a young drummer, becoming a skilled bassist by the age of 9 and a guitar sensation by the age of 14. While many doubt someone his age can feel, let alone play the blues, Kingfish has redefined odds and he’s only getting better.

About Cedric Burnside Project
North Mississippi drummer Cedric Burnside has been a known musician in the Holy Springs hill country area for some time now. At the age of 13 Cedric began touring worldwide with his grandfather blues legend and Hall of Famer R.L. Burnside as his drummer. Since founding The Cedric Burnside Project he has become a household name in the blues community.

Since the bands formation in 2006 the CBP hit the ground running winning Best Debut Artist at the 30th Blues Music Awards. In the nine year history of the CBP, Cedric has received four of the last five Best Instrumental Drummer Awards at the Blues Foundations Blues Music Awards. With the lineup now consisting of childhood friend and North Mississippi local Trenton Ayer, the CBP looks to reach new heights in not only the Blues community, but music in general. In 2013 the duo released the album “Hear Me When I Say” from which Cedric received his 4th Blues Music Award for his drumming.  This year CBP prepares to release a follow up album titled “Descendants of Hill Country” in February of 2015 as it explores the progression of the Hill Country Blues.

RISING APPALACHIA LAUNCHES THE WIDER CIRCLES RAIL TOUR IN ADVANCE OF NEW ALBUM

WIDER CIRCLES AVAILABLE ON APRIL 21 APRIL 21ST
The soulful sisters of Rising Appalachia and their band have announced the Wider Circles Rail Tour in celebration of their forthcoming album release Wider Circles, due out on April 21st. The tour kicks off in New Orleans and winds its way by train throughout the Southwest with stops in New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas (see full schedule below).

Present day troubadours, Leah Song and Chloe Smith, drew from a melting pot of genres when compiling the 15-track Wider Circles album. With influences of folk, soul, roots, world music, and poetry, the album showcases the alchemy of sibling harmonies paired with banjo and fiddle duets. Joined by full-time band members Biko Casini (world percussion) and David Brown (stand-up bass / baritone guitar), Wider Circles was inspired by folk standards and traditional hymns, old mountain odes, and activist anthems that pull equally from the swampy sounds of the bayou, the twang of the Appalachian mountains, and the beat of a global rhythm. “The album is a deep reflection of the many influences and experiences we have intimately lived and have built our songs on,“ explains Leah. “Wider Circles is a subtle and powerful folk anthem.”

The album’s release also signifies a new chapter in Rising Appalachia’s “Slow Music Movement” approach to touring - an effort to promote sustainable touring practices and to be immersed in local communities. “It’s an effort to take the glitz and glam out of the music industry and bring performance back to its roots. A place where musicians are not just part of fast-paced entertainment, but instead influence the cultural shift as troubadours, activists, and catalysts of justice,” explains Leah. The ‘Slow Music Movement’ encourages musicians to try out ‘non-industry standard’ ways of bringing music into the world by “linking to local communities and staying with local friends; pursuing alternative venues for performances and supporting local businesses with farm-to-table hospitality; providing local non-profits at each show a platform to display information; exploring alternative methods of travel including train, bike, low impact vehicles, boat, horse, or simply focusing on regional touring; and encouraging concert goers to take in more than just the catharsis of the music.”
